A little rest

I really appreciate getting to have 2 very separate family Christmas’s, especially now that I knit things for both of them!

I made another pair of felted clogs (bringing the clog count to 7) to give to my SIL for Christmas. I think she liked them considering she put them on immediately, brought them to the Christmas Eve celebration that night and to Christmas the next day! You can look at the pictures here if you’re on Ravelry.

I also worked my mother’s socks. I’m doing the Floral Lace Anklets from Lace Style with Seacoast Handpainted Panda in colorway Sorbet. It’s very soft. The first sock took me 3 days and the second one will be about the same. I had about 2 inches of the cuff done before Christmas eve, but then I worked on it a bunch Monday and Tuesday and will finish the last approx. 3 inches tonight (wednesday).

I still have to felt & line the purse for my niece (Amanda’s Squatty Sidekick from Knitting Daily). So tonight I will felt, tomorrow I will sew the lining & Friday in the car I will sew the lining and button onto the bag. No problem.

I don’t know what I will start once those 2 projects are done. It’s both liberating and frustrating. I can knit anything I want, but I don’t know what it should be!

When I took off of work last Thursday I intended to get a bunch done. I did go shopping and I finished off all the presents I could, got a little knitting done and watched a movie with my husband. I’d say it was just productive enough ! 🙂

Christmas is coming

On Saturday one of my SIL’s informed me that it is only 9 days until Christmas. I really didn’t appreciate the update… I only have one project to finish by Christmas anyway (actually Christmas Eve, since we decided to open those presents a day early), but I have yet to start. A week ago Saturday I wound the yarn in preparation, so I could start at any moment that I got the inkling….as of yet I have not. Now it has become less than 9 days, and I must start tonight.

I have 2 other projects to finish before the 29th. One is clipping along nicely and I have no worries about finishing it on time. The other has been mostly done since Thanksgiving, I have one small section (5 inches long over about 14 stitches) left to knit, then felting, drying, lining & a button until completion. and I still have more than 9 days for both of those projects.

I am taking this Thursday off from work in order to get a bit more sleep, finish some knitting, cleaning, laundry….maybe I should start a schedule so I actually accomplish something other than knitting? No, the presents really are the most pressing need at the moment, especially since my husband is so wonderful around the house!
